Okay, first off I well tell everyone that I work at a scooter shop. I have had a GT250 for about a year and have driven almost every model motorcycle and scooter by Hyosung. I just can't get enough of this company, I have a Suzuki GSXR600 and actually prefer to drive my 250.But enough about that, this will be the build up of the fastest SF50 and will be able to walk all over 250cc scooters.

The platform:
Hyosung SF50 Racing-Red
49cc 2-stroke

The plan:
Technigas Next R pipe
Malossi 70cc cylinder kit w/ T-6 configuration
Malossi cylinder head (maybe 54 mm larger bore diameter)
Try a 30mm carburetot w/bigger jets or bore out my own
Intake manifold w/reed valves
Stiffer clutch pulley spring
16mm Race Variator
105/107 mm Race Clutch
Kevlar drive belt
Lighter roller weights (probably 4.5 g)
Clutch Bell (possibility of changing final drive)
High speed fan
Cone intake air filter
I am going to try to put on a current stabilizer, then of course racing coil, cdi, and spark plug upgrade.
I really want to upgrade the front brakes. I am going to look at maybe 250cc scooter brakes or some form a motorcycle. Still trying to research that one.

OR the naked version

Ultimate Hyosung SF50 Sf50naked

My ultimate goal is to have 15-18 hp and be able to hold 65 mph no problem. Stay tuned as I will update once I begin the build-up. Pics are going to be up next week.

*Also, my friend has a Kymco Agility 50, which is a 4 stroke. He is currently building up a supercharger package to be the first supercharged ever. If anyone is interested I can make a thread for that bike as well.

All right, so Hyosung has finally come to a resolution with the whole crankshaft issue. Instead of sending a new crankshaft that would need to be pressed, they decided to send a whole new engine. After some debate though, Hyosung is sending a brand new SF50 bike for me to trade out for. They really seem to come through everytime I have ever seen a warranty issue on any kind of bike.

Also, I ordered my Technigas Next R pipe today. Hopefully, if the bike is here, wednesday I will have my SF50 with exhaust, roller weights, intake filter, and absolutely 0 miles fresh out of the box for everything.

UPDATE:

I got the scooter in tonight, exhaust as well. I fully derestricted the bike and put in 4.5g roller weights with the new Tecchnigas exhaust. I put on about 100 km just riding around. Basically, the bike is topping out at 45 mph. Acceleration is average compared to others, I do not have the right weights in for the bike right now. The Technigas system came with weights that I found later, once those are in, it should run better. The bike pulls real hard from 35-43 mph. It is surprising how much torque it has in that power range.
I took off the stickers, side stand, mirrors, license plate bracket, and a couple of other little things to make it look better. The maroon red with the crome and blue exhaust looks real pimp. I really think that I will be painting the wheels black this weekend and maybe put on an air cone filter. I will keep you updated.

I am looking for a bigger brake setup for the front, but I cannot find anything online. If anyone knows a site where I can get like a 240mm or so front brake upgrade, please help. Also, I am getting some renthal dirtbike handlebars, universal sliders for transmission cover, and probably custom up a 12 oclock bar (maybe from a Route 905). I have the Tecnigas 6g weights in right now and it is a dog off the line. I am going to go ahead and order a spring and clutch kit and some 4.5 or 5 gram weights. I also got pulled over today, for doing a stoppie in the old town (no ticket though, thank god). I am going to try and paint the wheels over Thanksgiving (white is what I will try).

OK, so I am getting really pissed off with this **** Morini motor. I cannot find anyone that makes an intake manifold that will fit it, so all I can do is run the stock carb. I was ordering my cylinder kit yesterday, and MRP Jonathan tells me all they can do is give me a 78 main jet. This really pisses me off because that means I can't go anywhere near as big of a kit as I wanted to. I am about ready to trade this thing in unless I can find an intake manifold to fab up to fit.
Also, I made my 12 oclock bar yesterday and finished up the guage cluster. The bar was just a rigged up tow bar and the guage panel is a gloss black now. I also, changed out the roller weights a total of 4 times yesterday to find the right combo. I wasn't getting enough torque off the line, so I had to do something. The combination though is TOP SECRET so I can't tell anyone just yet, but the result is amazing. Pics soon.

well, i ordered the cylinder kit, variator kit, and kevlar belt from miamimoto.com last wednesday, and dont have it yet, they never answer their phones and dont reply to emails, i guess i have to go to the bank and try to get my money back, miamimoto.com called me and straightened everything out. So I guess they just moved locations.

Well, I got screwed. Martin Racing or Indy Cycle Ranch sent me a cylinder with a crack on it. I have a specified 30 day warranty from Indy Cycle, but these people are being assholes and trying to say that they inspect everything. I would highly advise never buying from Indy Cycle Ranch. Here is the crack, and hopefully I will get my new kit within this year.

Finally, today is the day that this nonsense is done with. I got the variator kit, extra roller weights, and cylinder. But, somehow I ordered a Polini variator and the great retards at Indy Cycle managed to give me a Malossi Multivar. I am actually not complaining about this though, considering I was charged the cheaper product and the multivar comes with a torque spring.

I was thinking about putting everything on this weekend, but there is just too many parties and I need to fix my car first. So, here is some pics for now and the build should be next week hopefully.

Well, I have decided that I am going to get my wheels and the transmission casing chrome dipped. It should look sick when I get it done. But first, I am putting the cylinder, variator, and carb on tomorrow. Pics soon...

Dammn, it took all fucking night to get the cylinder kit on the scooter. We had to do a little port job to the block,(which took forever using a file), but the cylinder finally dropped in.

The bike runs, but it needs a little break in and some tweaking to do still. We cranked it originally without the exhaust gasket (woops) and it was fuckin" baller loud. Finish assembly will comense tomorrow, hopefully it will be able to run much faster once its all broken in.

Well, bad news on the scoot. The new cylinder kit is defective and going to tear apart my bottom end if I use it. Everything was checked; carb jet, premix, spark plug, all thats left is it is the kit. The motor is predetonating, uhhohh, and even when you turn it off, or even pull the spark plug cap off, it still wants to run.

So.......
Thanks to the mad mechanic Joe, we are going to do a little hone work to the cylinder to see if we can make it work. We are going to port out the intake manifold also. So yet another fun friday night with this piece of shit, dammn.

Well.... the cylinder kit was made so shitty that there were high spots and the piston would bounce from side to side. We try to flatten and make everything smooth, and it worked, for about 10 minutes. Then we shut off the ignition, but there was still spark in the motor so it was still tryin to run. After letting it sit for a couple minutes to cool off, we tried to kick it over and the motor had seized up. In the end.... We have put in probably a total of 8 hours on one fucking cylinder kit. This is the kind of bullshit that you seem to get when you buy these shitty ass kits. BUT, I have put in a order for a good kit, Malossi, which should go right on no problem. I just don't understand how these people can sell such garbage,BTW, Martin Racing makes the shit kit that I am talking about, just a little FYI..

BIG NEWS...

So, I ordered a Malossi kit. It wasn't exactly bolt on but I got it on and running, the bike runs so good right now. With the multivar it does about 55, but I still need to swap out the torque spring and put on the carbon reed valves. Gonna try to see if it will do 60mph with the stock gearing. More soon...

Well.... thanks to wrench, I have an Arreche/Polini mut 21mm carb with a new intake and choke. The scoot is running real bad ass now, and can do throttle up wheelies. Hopefully we can do some races and stunting once the zx50 is in action.

So I got the top fork handlebar assembly from a Rally and ordered some Protaper dirtbike bars. It looks so good with it setup. I also made a custom rear delete kit for my license plate with some 16 guage. I finally got another kevlar belt, but it is too wide so it doesnt run on the clutch correctly.Gotta run the rubber one til I can ever get the correct one sent to me. Also, got myself a new dremel so i clean up the rear and opened up the 12 oclock bar a little bit.
Right now the bike is back torn apart because i ran into some problems with the wiring harness. I am trying to do some research about retrofitting a leonelli ignition harness on or running the pulsar coil straight to the coil to delete the cdi,so i get more spark= more power.
I will try to get some pictures up as soon as i can. I still need to buy me a camera. I have decided to make this a purpose built scooter for stunt riding unless i can get the wiring done right. now i am ready to clean out my garage and get my bike running again. ryan.

Alright, so the Hyosung has officially been dedicated for stunt use. So now, I will attempt at putting on slider pegs, fabricating a rear 12 bar, and getting the setup just right for stunt. I first put a peg through the side panel attached to the suspension mount....

Then I cut a bigger whole so that the peg could come through...

Next is the front wheel. Alot of dremmeling had to be done to get the pegs to fit with the axle bolt...

I will fix the side peg to bring it out further. Then possibly make some sort of crash cage (still putting ideas together). Doing all the extra work really is making me miss riding it, BUT hopefully the wiring harness will be here soon. ** Next on the agenda is to make a boost bottle. Ryan.
